Maintenance Services:
Standard Specifications
Spring Cleanup & Mulch
Installation: All
ornamental grasses will be
cut back as needed. Mulch
beds & tree saucers will be
edged to provide a manicured
appearance. Debris such as
leaves, branches, seed pods,
trash, etc. will be removed
from the lawn & landscape
areas. Existing mulch will
be cultivated. In some
cases, old mulch will have
to be removed, and this will
be an additional cost above
and beyond normal spring
cleanup costs. Pre-emergent
weed control will be applied
to the landscape areas to
slow early spring weed
growth. Apply shrub and
groundcover fertilizer. New
mulch will be installed at a
depth of 2-3”.
TOP
Mowing, Trimming, &
Edging: All lawn areas
will be mowed on a 7-10 day
cycle, weather permitting,
April – October. In the
case of 3 consecutive rain
days, mowing services for
that cycle may not occur,
but will be performed during
the next scheduled cycle.
In the case of slow growth
or drought stress, mowing
intervals may be extended.
ALC will determine the
mowing schedule. ALC will
use various techniques such
as mulching, bagging, or
vacuuming to prevent a
clipping buildup. All turf
will be mowed at a height
that will not remove more
than 1/3 of the total grass
blade. All obstacles or
areas not accessible with a
large mower will be
“trimmed” with a mechanical
string trimmer. All
concrete edges will be edged
with a mechanical blade
edger. Paver brick &
asphalt paving cannot be
edged with a steel blade
edger due to their
construction, but will be
edged with a string
trimmer. Edging is
performed in conjunction
with the mowing service, no
less than one time per month
during the mowing season.
All excess clippings &
debris will be blown from
paved areas upon completion
of mowing service. Cool
season mowing will be
performed once in November
and once in December.
TOP
Grounds Policing:
All debris encountered while
mowing will be picked up in
conjunction with the mowing
service. Debris found in
landscape areas will be
removed during weeding,
pruning, and other landscape
maintenance visits. After
the normal mowing season,
sweeping of paved areas,
parking lots, changing of
trashcan liners, and general
cleanup of trash and debris
will be performed on a
weekly basis.
TOP
Field Mowing / Drainage
Basin Mowing: Rough
mowing of common field
areas, rough terrain,
drainage swales, and the
like. Exact specifications
included with pricing
information. This service
is typically not performed
in conjunction with normal
mowing service unless
otherwise noted.
TOP
Weed Control / Bed
Maintenance: A program
of bed maintenance will be
implemented to keep your
landscape areas manicured
and clean. Manual and
chemical weed control will
be implemented to control
weed growth on the
property. All landscape
areas, hardscapes, etc. will
be treated. All beds will
be mechanically edged and
mulch will be cultivated as
needed. Any suckers on tree
roots will be cut and any
debris or trash in beds will
be removed. The ALC program
is based on a minimum of 8
visits, monthly from April
through November.
Additional visits &
increased frequencies are
available upon request.
These services are performed
by our “detail” crews and
not typically in conjunction
with mowing services.
TOP
Pruning: ALC uses a
program of 3 seasonal
pruning visits. All plant
material under 16’ in
overall height will be
pruned in a manner as to
promote healthy and vigorous
growth, while endeavoring to
retain the plants natural
form. Removal of dead or
diseased plant material, or
low, dangerous limbs may be
done as needed. No drastic
pruning will be done without
consultation with the
Owner. ALC will not
haphazardly prune plant
material into geometric
shapes. ALC requires the
authority to determine the
pruning schedule of all
plant material. The
following is a general
guideline of our pruning
schedule:
Ø
Winter /
Early Spring: Heavy
pruning of deciduous plant
material. Thinning of tree
crowns, removal of crossing
branches and sucker growth.
Thinning of hedges and
removal of undesirable
growth. Cut back of
perennials & grasses if
needed. This pruning may be
done in conjunction with
early spring cleanup.
Ø
Summer:
Removal of spring growth
from evergreens to maintain
size and shape. Pruning of
certain flowering shrubs to
maintain the following
seasons flowers. Some
prolific growers may be
heavily cut back at this
time to allow the plant to
regenerate over the
remaining growing season.
Ø
Fall:
Removal of any additional
summer growth. Special
attention is paid to the
overall size & shape of the
plant. Removal of any
suckers or shoots.
Perennials will be cut back
as needed. This pruning may
be done in conjunction with
the fall cleanup program.
TOP
Fall Cleanup: A
complete cleanup of the site
is to include all leaves and
other debris such as fallen
limbs, fruit, and seedpods.
This cleanup will take place
as trees defoliate in
November and December.
Additional cleanups are
available at an additional
cost upon your request.
Atlantic Landscape Company
will endeavor to collect and
remove all leaves from the
site. Due to our inability
to control Mother Nature, we
cannot be responsible for
debris blown onto the site
after cleanups are complete.
TOP
Turf Care: ALC uses
a 3 Step program to provide
weed control, healthy color,
and strong root growth to
lawn areas. Treatments may
sometimes be altered due to
weather conditions.
Treatments of all fungus,
disease, & insect problems
are done on an as needed
basis and costs can only be
determined at that time.
Our standard program is:
Ø
Early
Spring: Crabgrass
Control, Broadleaf Weed
Control, Slow Release
Fertilizer
Ø
Late Spring:
Broadleaf Weed
Control, Slow Release
Fertilizer
Ø
Fall:
Broadleaf
Weed Control, Slow Release
Fertilizer
TOP
Flower Installation:
ALC uses a program of 2
seasonal plantings to add
color to high profile
areas. Each planting
includes removal of previous
planting, tilling, grading,
and soil amendment as
needed, and a topdressing of
mulch as needed. Plantings
will be watered at the time
of installation. Additional
watering services are
available at an additional
cost. The following is a
general guideline of our
planting schedule:
Ø
Summer
Planting: Wave Petunias
installed in May. 4” pot
plants installed on 6”
centers, 4 plants per square
foot.
Ø
Fall
Planting: Winter
Pansies installed in
October. 4” pot plants
installed on 6” centers, 4
plants per square foot.
